Grooming Services

Cat grooming isn’t our sideline, it’s our specialty! We use a two-person team grooming method that’s unique in the industry. Your cat won’t feel manhandled—we see cats as individuals and allow each particular cat to guide the grooming process. Your cat will get breaks as needed, music, snacks—whatever we have to do to make the experience, if not enjoyable, then at least as stress-free as possible.

We welcome all types of cats, whether you seek a quick nail trim or comb out, or full grooming. If you’ve been told that your cat cannot be groomed without sedation, we are willing to at least give it a try.

Our cat spa is clean, safe, and relaxing, and your cat is our number one priority. Our grooming sessions may take a little longer, but that’s because we want to offer the best possible care, tailored to YOUR cat’s personality. We provide services to cats in Western New York.

Basic Grooming

Our Basic Grooming package is anything but basic! This includes a nail trim, thorough ear cleaning, eye and tear track cleaning, and a bath, blow-dry, comb out. We also take photographs of your cat’s spa day experience for fun Facebook stories and Instagram posts, and we will share the photographs with you. Our Basic Grooming is red carpet treatment, and your cat is the star.

Specialty Fur Add-Ons

From basic mat removal to full de-pelting, we can do it all. Some feline coats require more extensive maintenance. As an add-on to a Basic Grooming, we offer lion cuts, slightly longer comb cuts, our very popular de-shedding treatments, and more, as described below:

De-shedding:

During a de-shedding, we use a special tool that attaches to our Clipper Vac system to remove excess undercoat while leaving the top coat and guard hairs alone. Not only does this prevent excessive shedding, but it is the first step toward preventing painful matting and pelting. De-shedding is available and effective for all cats, regardless of fur length.

Lion Cut:

A lion cut is a close body shave, but don’t worry—we’re not turning your Maine Coon into a Sphinx. Your cat will have 1/16” of velvety soft fur on the body, with a full mane, fluffy little boots, and three options for the tail: full fur, halftail, and the adorable poof ball tail. We can also tailor your long-haired cat’s yearly grooming for the season: lion cut in summer, comb cut in fall and spring, and de-shedding or a Basic Grooming only in the cold months.

Comb Cut:

After your cat is freshly bathed and dried, we will trim your cat’s fur to a custom length between 1/8” and 1”, to your preference. A comb cut is perfect for a challenging coat when you don’t want the full lion cut look.

Sanitary Trim:

Let’s face it…some cats take care of the back forty, and some cats don’t. We can trim up your cat’s rearview to make it easier for them—or you—to keep things neat and fresh. You can book a sani-trim as a single service or as an add-on to a Basic Grooming.

Belly Shave:

Some cats are prone to matting in the armpit and belly region (the “underneathery”), and some cats get overheated in the summer and need a bit of relief, but perhaps you don’t want them to have a full body shave or cut. A good middle ground option is a belly shave. You won’t notice the shorter fur unless your cat decides to show it to you, but it will take care of painful matting, overheating, and difficulty in self-grooming for your cat. You can book a belly shave as an add-on to Basic Grooming or as a service on its own.

De-matting:

If your cat is developing fur mats, but you’re not ready to commit to a lion cut, we can go through and shave out the mats individually (Keeping in mind that sometimes, a lion cut is just plain necessary, which we will advise after we assess the coat). We have three levels of de-matting: light, medium, and heavy, all dependent on our assessment of the coat. If de-matting is the best choice, we will free your cat from those nasty mats and get them on a regular schedule of maintenance grooming so that mats will become a thing of the past.

De-pelting:

When matting is not taken care of in a timely matter, the mats can worsen into a pelt, which isn’t just an aesthetic problem for your cat, it’s a serious health concern. But we’re not here to judge the fact that your cat wound up in this predicament. We’re just glad you brought them to us when you did. De-pelting is a long and painstaking shaving process, but it’s so necessary. That thick pelt can hide a myriad of skin problems, and it’s extremely painful for the cat, limiting movement and making any kind of self-grooming nearly impossible. We will depelt and bathe your cat (sometimes in two separate appointments, depending on the extent of the pelt) and teach you how to prevent this painful and dangerous condition from ever developing again.

Other Grooming Services

Nail Care Options:

We are happy to keep your cat from getting too pointy. Schedule a monthly nail trim your cat for a cool $10/visit, or if you have a scratcher in the family, do the cruelty-free thing and invest in nail caps, which last four to six weeks, depending on the cat. This is an inexpensive and humane way to keep your scratchy-cat from damaging your furniture. You can add nail caps to a basic grooming, or schedule it as a stand-alone service.

Ear Cleaning:

Cats are prone to various ear problems, and your veterinarian should always be the first stop for proper feline ear health. But we can help keep your cat’s healthy ears sparkling with regular, safe ear cleaning. This is included with a basic grooming, but can also be scheduled as a stand-alone service.

Flea Prevention Options:

if your cat has an active flea infestation, we will treat them to a round—or more—of herbal flea bath in conjunction with their two rounds of shampooing for the Basic Grooming. The extent of a flea bath add-on is dependent on the extent of the flea problem, which we will assess upon arrival.

Bunny and Guinea Pig Grooming: We have nail trims, sanitary trims, and deshedding without baths available for your little fluffy pocket pals, too. Give us a call to find out more.
